ABOUT US

The EASTERN AREA TENANTS SERVICE INCORPORATED (EATS) provides free information, advice and advocacy to tenants residing in the local government areas of Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick, New South Wales (NSW). EATS is located in Bondi Junction and has been providing tenancy services to the community for over ten years.

TENANCY NETWORK

EATS is part of a network of Tenants Advice and Advocacy Services (TAAS) that provide assistance to tenants across NSW. We receive funding from the NSW Office of Fair Trading through the Tenants Advice and Advocacy Program (TAAP) as well as from Waverley Council through their community grants scheme.

OUTREACH + DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES

EATS provides face to face advice and information every first and third Thursday of the month in Kensington and Maroubra Junction.

11.00am - 1.00pm at The Kingsford Legal Centre at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Kensington

2.00pm - 4.30pm at the Junction Neighbourhood Centre 669 - 673 Anzac Parade, Maroubra Junction.

EATS also provides tenancy assistance to people in a domestic violence situation at the Waverley Local Court one Thursday per month from 9am - 11am. Please contact us for more information.

COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATION

EATS provides free information sessions throughout the year to educate the community about their rights and responsibilities as tenants. We also publish The Boot Factor, a bi-annual newsletter featuring practical tips and articles related to tenancy issues in NSW. Please contact us if you would like to book a community education session or if you would like to receive The Boot Factor or any other information about our service.
