Did you know?

Some fast facts about tenancy...

? The Consumer Trader & Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) settles disputes between tenants and landlords.

? The landlord must lodge your bond money with the Rental Bond Board.

? The tenant can claim the bond back on the last day of the tenancy by faxing a“Claim for Refund of Bond Form” to the Rental Bond Board

? If you did not sign the form and want to dispute the amount the landlord is claiming, you must notify the Rental Bond Board within 14 days.
? The landlord must give you 60 days notice in writing to increase the rent.

? If the landlord does not do the repairs you must still pay the rent. You can then take the landlord to the CTTT. The CTTT can reduce your rent if the landlord refuses to do repairs.

? The CTTT will provide you with an interpreter free of charge if you prefer to communicate in your first language.
